Polaris Project estimates there are 9,000 illicit massage businesses in every state. While not all massage parlors participate in labor or s*x trafficking, this is not an uncommon avenue for folks to be exploited.

While January is Human Trafficking Awareness month, to really combat trafficking requires year-round awareness. You can make a difference in your community by bringing meaningful conversations into your daily routines, raising awareness and empathy for folks at risk, become a foster parent as foster kids are at higher risk of exploitation. Together, we can make the world around us a better place.
