A recent acquisition and an interesting part of sewing machine antiquity. This Wheeler & Wilson No. 8 was in stiff competition with the Singer models in the 1880's. Wheeler & Wilson lost out and was purchased by Singer in the early 1900's.
I am not sure how far I will go on this restoration, but the last photos are after a second toothbrush scrub down.

In 2008, the Pfaff Creative Vision was the most advanced sewing machine Pfaff had ever produced. It features hundreds of built in stitches, loads of automatic buttonholes, built in needle threader, thread trimmer, large sewing field/throat, touch screen, drop in bobbin, LED lighting, needle up/down, direct USB connection for embroidery design loading, and many other features. This particular one was purchased by a sewing instructor and includes too many extra accessories to list, but to name a few; extra hoops, extra bobbins, a number of embroidery design cds, straight stitch plate, and carry case with rolling luggage cart.
Because it is a one owner machine, and owned by a sewing instructor, it has been very well maintained, regularly serviced, and tested by myself at Loop Solutions. All sewing functions work as they should. I did not test the embroidery feature.
This machine is not for the faint of heart, but for the truly creative individual looking to add a vast expanse of abilities to their sewing arsenal. It has features to make your imagination reality, no matter how outside the box your ideas are.
This machine does come with a Sew Steady table extension, but the legs were misplaced during a move. Since I am selling this for a friend (the original owner), they may be found as she unpacks her home. If not, they should be pretty easy to source from Sew Steady.
Contact us to come test this machine and see what a wonder it is.

Rehomed!
The Singer 401A brought the home sewing machine into a new dimension with its built-in cam stack for additional stitches and the ability to use additional cams (top hat style) for even more stitches. The direct drive motor made for smooth running and solid power for heavier fabrics as well as multiple step zig zag (built in) to accommodate the stretch fabrics that were becoming more popular. With its tan and ivory color scheme and modern styling it was an instant hit and sold millions in the years it was made.
This example was made in 1956 and comes in an interesting mid century modern style cabinet complete with real formica top. It has been fully reconditioned and includes the standard foot, 6 period appropriate bobbins, a zipper foot, period screwdriver, seam guide, one cam, and a seam ripper. It sews fast and smoothly and is ready for another 70 years of service. All wiring has been checked for safety, a modern LED light bulb has been installed, and it has been well lubricated with modern lubricants.
The cabinet is a bit unusual as I have not been able to find a similar one on the internet. It measures 43 1/4 x 16 3/4 inches, and features a clip in slot for the foot control which also works as an adapter to use your knee to control the machine. It also allows the machine to be tucked away so the surface can easily be used as a desk. The blond color accentuates the machine nicely and is in good condition, especially when the age is taken into consideration.
With over 20 years of direct sewing machine experience, Loop Solutions offers a warranty on our labor for 90 days, so you can purchase with confidence. Contact us to come test drive this sweet machine and bring some scraps of your own to test it out.
