BloomTown
We do not use any pesticides or herbicides-we believe in adding to our soil, not depleting it.
- U-Pick fields, Bouquet bars, classes and weekly bouquet subscriptions.
Things I never thought I'd be doing:
-making Kombucha on a Friday night
-saying "save the tea bags for your worm farm"🐛
..but here we are🤷♀️ with the weather so gloomy and cold and a herniated disc in my back-There's not much else I can do.
I never liked Kombucha because it tasted like apple cider vinegar. Then I got my hands on my mom's homemade kombucha recipe, and now I make sure we always have some. The hardest part is listening to your husband gagging and commenting about the scoby😄
The flavors we've made so far:
Palisades Peach
Mixed Berry
Clementine
Pear
Blueberry/Pear
Kiwi Strawberry
My fav is the peach. I think a watermelon-mint sounds good in the summer.
Do you like Kombucha?
It's seed starting time! First up-Lisianthus.
These are known as being a "fussy" flower to grow because they take 5-6 months. If I can get them to grow for me, I think the wait is worth it. These are gorgeous and have a long vase life of 10-14 days!
Materials:
Lisianthus Seeds
Soil Blocker
Plastic trays
Vermiculite
Soil (I use our homemade recipe)
Heat mat with temp regulator
