Ocotillo Dye Studio
About me: I'm the mom of a fun toddler, who inadvertently got this whole thing started. I've played with dyeing ever since I was a Camp Fire kid, when our group did tie dye and then batik, but I never really explored beyond that until I dyed my very first babywearing wrap. After a while I felt the urge to do another dye, and stumbled upon the art of shibori, and that really piqued my interest. Sin

Indigo is so COOL! I can't wait to finish tying up some more things to dip, and I may have found a new obsession.

Playing with some silk hankies with procion dye (soda ash method) on top right, bottom left and right. The top left corner was my LO's turn to try it (with food coloring). I'm not impressed by the food coloring method on the silks, all the colors but blue eventually washed out, but it was a fun project for the toddler.
