Vintage Edmonds
When looking for an old family photo of "Swanson Drugs" in Edmonds, WA. I was amazed at how much the town had progressed and if my Great Grandparents would even recognize their old homestead nowadays? I wanted to create a place where people can share their family's personal old photos of Edmonds for everyone to enjoy! year or era and a short description. Primarily photos from the late 1800's -1970's.

Found this picture in a box of old family photos.... my Great Grandfather, Irving "Tink" Anderson, Edmonds 1902. His nickname was Tink because he was always tinkering on something. He and my Great Grandmother married in Edmonds in 1901. In this picture he’s holding his first child Dorothea, followed by my Grandmother Adrienne and his only son Guy Anderson who became an artist that Life Magazine would later refer to as a NW Mystic.
One of my Great Grandfather Tink’s earliest jobs was working in a Shingle Mill down on the beach (same era as this picture) just below Sunset Avenue. He loved music and could play any instrument by ear and was instrumental in starting Edmond’s first Marching Band. He did many different trades in his life, worked at a Shingle Mill, Yost Auto, a Boat builder, Construction and later becoming an Edmonds City Councilman.
