Shock Cinema Magazine Update: If you read my Facebook post from back in June, you can probably guess that the last several months haven’t been particularly relaxing for me... My first eye surgery went amazingly well. Unfortunately, the second was more problematic, needing additional laser work. As I mentioned in my earlier post, I’ve had eye problems for most of my life, and while the cataract surgery was essentially successful, it didn’t resolve all of my issues. It definitely improved my eyesight in a lot of ways (e.g., I’d been having troubles reading subtitles, so now Anna & I can finally catch up on our backlog of foreign films), but it has also taken a lot longer to get comfortable sitting at my computer for hours at a time, writing and doing detailed layout work.

In a nutshell, I’ve been hard at work on Shock Cinema #65 for the last couple months, finally pulling together the new issue and hopefully getting back on a regular schedule with the magazine. Thank you to all of our friends and subscribers for their patience and support while I’ve dealt with my medical nonsense, and I’ll keep everyone updated on the new issue’s progress once it’s closer to actually going to press.
