Tyler Paul Long is from Robbinsville, North Carolina. While at Duke, he majored in Political Science with a concentration in Security, Peace, and Conflict. He also minored in Education and African & African American Studies. Tyler was a part of student organizations such as Duke LIFE, Duke Secondary Teacher Preparation Program, Duke Club Volleyball, Rubenstein Scholar Advisory Council, DukeEngage. After Duke, Tyler plans to attend the Wake Forest School of Law.
"One piece of advice that I would share with incoming first-year students is to never take no for an answer the first time that you get it. Duke administration is full of resources and people that their whole job is to help you succeed, so tap into those resources and ask as many people as you need for help until you run out of people to ask.
