From once-loved blouses to beautiful new beginnings. โป๏ธโจ
Each of our Mayan Market Bags was made from vintage huipiles (traditional blouses) that had small tears or stains; too precious to discard, too meaningful to forget.
Weโve reimagined them into one-of-a-kind tote bags, each piece carrying the stories, colors, and spirit of the Maya women who once wore them. No two are ever alike --- just like their makers. ๐ซ

๐งก Vida Maya began with a simple dream between a mother and her son.
When I became a mom, I realized how deeply I wanted my son to feel proud of where we come from; to know the strength, beauty, and resilience of our Guatemalan roots.
Vida Maya was born from that desire to raise a bicultural child with connection to his heritage, and to build a bridge between our family and the Indigenous communities from my homeland.
Every piece you see in our shop supports Indigenous Maya families and helps preserve the art of backstrap weaving. Every item is a piece of home, a piece of history, and a piece of our story.
To every mama out there raising bicultural kids, I see you. Iโd love to know, what part of your culture are you most proud to share with?
