Should coaches work with coaches? Can really good coaches learn more? Lone Peak High's staff sure thinks so! They came, they learned, they're now out teaching with that much more skill. What a superb bunch of dedicated people!

Yes, we were jumping, and it was awesome. 😎

Want to level your own coaching skills up? Let's do it. Whether you'll be riding with your kid's NICA team, or you're coaching in some other context we have you covered!

Same jump, different results. Can you see why? Comment below before reading the description.

Jumping takes a combination of forward movement and upward force. Speed is straightforward enough to work with. It's the force that becomes the focal point of any jump lesson. Here we have a rider showing the difference between absorption and resistance. When met with speed, the jump provides upward force. It our job to work with it, and translate it to stable and controlled flight. How? Well that's a topic for later. 🤘

As we reflect on this last year, our most valuable teaching skill is quite clear. The value of listening is profound to us, not just to help our riders learn, but also because our intentional listening is a sign of how much we care about our riders. We want you to be heard and understood.
Here's to another year of listening and learning!

Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
