The DFA was formed to unite the Detroit sports fan base that is growing across the country. The club was founded by well known Detroit sports fans "Crackman," "Super Fan," "Detroit Don," Ward the Heckler," "The Admirals" (Grizz and Nick), and the popular Detroit Pride Cheerleaders. Chances are if you have been to a sporting event in Detroit, you have seen them there!! Not only will every official
member get some pretty cool benefits, a portion of every membership sold will be given to three specific charities that were researched and chosen by the founding members. The 2013 charities that the DFA will be supporting are:

- Curing Kids with Cancer (Michigan)
- Curing Kids with Childhood Diabetes (Michigan)
