Representative Scott Slaugh
I Represent the District that includes Johnstown, Milliken, Berthoud, Mead, and the West half of Greeley, and have lived in the district my entire life with only a few exceptions.

From your school boards, town boards, county commissions, and State officials, these are the results of who has been in elected positions in Colorado. Time for a change. Vote for Republicans.
Denver Public Schools Grows Bureaucracy While Student Population Declines - Rocky Mountain Voice Denver Public Schools (DPS) has operated with thousands fewer students than its peak enrollment in 2019 but it has grown its administrative ranks back to nearly their pre-pandemic level, a Denver Gazette analysis of state staffing data shows.

A long day is finally wrapped up, but it started with a great meeting with a great group of Weld County Republicans at the weekly Wednesday breakfast. Representative Lori Garcia Sander and I were able to talk about our reflections from this legislative session. The good bills, the bad bills, and just the general course of the session. A little campaign talk too!
Bottom Line Question: Is Colorado headed in the right direction in your opinion?

I was honored to be asked to speak at the Berthoud Memorial Day ceremony this morning at Greenlawn Cemetery, and to be able to attend the events at the Veterans Plaza of Northern Colorado yesterday. Last and certainly not least, I was grateful to be able to sit by my mom at the Johnstown cemetery where I saw a good number of friends I’ve known most of my life, and was able to salute the headstones of several great men who helped me become who I am, especially my father. I didn’t get a lot of pictures as I didn’t feel it appropriate to be trying to get a photo shoot in while we remembered our fallen friends and family, but I got a few and I hope everyone has had a blessed day of remembering the cost of the blessing of freedom and liberty. 🫡 🇺🇸

A very interesting initiative!
Colorado's hunting and fishing traditions may soon have constitutional protection.
Initiative 302, put forward by the T. Roosevelt Conservation Alliance, would amend the state Constitution to establish hunting, fishing, and harvesting of wildlife as a guaranteed right for every Coloradan — while still preserving the state's ability to manage wildlife through sound science and public safety standards.
The push comes after years of repeated ballot challenges targeting Colorado's outdoor sporting community. Efforts to ban mountain lion hunting, fur sales, and prairie dog shooting have come one after another, largely driven by out-of-state activist groups. Supporters of 302 say the pattern makes clear that statutory protections alone are not enough.
The numbers behind Colorado's hunting and fishing culture are significant — 300,000 hunters and anglers, $3.25 billion in economic impact, and 25,000 jobs tied to outdoor sporting traditions statewide.
The initiative also makes clear that a constitutional right to hunt does not include the right to trespass on private property, and that the legislature retains authority to regulate hunting and fishing when grounded in legitimate wildlife conservation and public safety needs.
With nearly 125,000 signatures needed by August 3 to reach the November ballot, the campaign is now in full swing.

Tomorrow on Memorial Day, let us remember that freedom is not free, but requires the sacrifice of true patriots to keep its flame alit. While you enjoy the beautiful spring day, take a moment and remember those who have willingly paid the ultimate price for freedom, and recommit to supporting policies that perpetuate our God-given and Patriot preserved rights.
