What an incredible way to kick off GALympics! 🎉

This morning’s Opening Ceremony was full of energy, creativity, and GALS spirit as our squads proudly introduced their team names and themes ahead of the games starting Thursday. From bold ideas to powerful teamwork, it was a true reflection of the heart of our community.

We were also honored to welcome Senator Michael Bennet, who spent time with our students answering thoughtful questions and engaging in meaningful conversation.

It was a joyful, inspiring morning that showcased exactly what GALS is all about: leadership, connection, and showing up fully as yourself. đź’ś

Our March Staff Member of the Month is 6th grade science teacher, Trysten Davis.

Mr. Davis joined us at the beginning of the school year and we are so happy to have him on our team.

“What’s not to like?” He replies when asked what he enjoys about working at GALS. “If I had to choose, I’d say the community aspect—the way students show up for each other and want to see each other succeed.”

Mr. Davis enjoys helping students think critically about the world around them, encouraging our 6th graders to dive past their surface knowledge and extend towards deeper scientific inquiry and discovery.

This remainder of curriculum for the year is dedicated to civil engineering. He looks forward to the students’ learning process of turning an idea into a finished project. This will come to fruition in the design of a model bridge, and incorporate other subjects through budgeting, material acquisition and more.

Outside of GALS, Trysten enjoys coaching soccer, playing with his Aussie Dog and visiting different places in his new state of residence.

Congrats, Trysten!
