Creative Culinary
I've always loved to cook for family and friends and almost 20 years ago starting keeping my recipes online. This blog grew from that effort and now I can share recipes with anyone who loves to cook and make cocktails like I do!

𝗣𝗮𝘃𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗱
I made these for New Year's Eve last year so very few actually saw them and then this year? Well, I'm late, opps I forgot!
But really SO easy. It's meringue but baked and hardened and then topped with fruit and whipped cream. Make them for guests...they will think you worked all day! 😋

𝗛𝗼𝘁 𝗕𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝘂𝗺 (𝗙𝗿𝗼𝘇𝗲𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿)
I first starting making this batter for Hot Buttered Rum cocktails before I moved to Colorado...over 30 years ago! But we still love it today. It's mixed, frozen, and ready for company in an instant!

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐖𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐏𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞!
Love pomegranates but find them impossible to use because of the mess? Tried the 'tricks' including smacking them with a spoon or cleaning them underwater?
This is the most natural and best way to get the maximum number of arils with a minimal amount of mess!

𝐈𝐓'𝐒 𝐌𝐘 𝟑𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐀𝐑𝐘!!!
I'm celebrating THIRTY years of blogging with this amazing dessert cocktail...a Watermelon Moscow Mule Float. The best of both worlds...adding vanilla ice cream to a cocktail made with watermelon, vodka, lime, and ginger beer. Mocktail? Sure...skip the vodka!
The first recipe I put online all those many years ago when I decided to start cataloging the dishes I loved, was one from a local Junior League Cookbook called Colorado Cache. It was a lovely book given to me after moving here and both the recipe and the book remain a favorite.
I don't use the Coors moniker anymore...all those years ago Coors it had a special cache because it wasn't delivered east of the Mississippi River due to its unpasteurized nature and lack of preservatives. This meant the beer had to be kept refrigerated throughout the distribution chain to prevent spoilage.
That's all changed and I like to mix up the beers I use. Still, I love to recommend it...if you haven't tried beer bread, this is an old fashioned standard that has never failed me. It's not just quick, it's a taste treat!
Thirty years...maybe I should retire? But but...what about those four hundred recipes in draft that I want to make? I'll be here awhile...Cheers! :)

𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥
My 6th day of all Watermelon! It is a favorite but when I went to publish a new post I realized all of the older ones looked meh and needed some editing.
This is day six...and I'll never forget the inspiration. A lunch date at Chili's and a very poor representation of watermelon in a margarita...this is so much better! 😋
