Texas Singer/Songwriter Jim Stewart is already a member of an elite group of guitarists. Jim is one of the few in the world who plays a right handed guitar, upside down, and left handed. 'When I was 8 years old, I wanted to play the guitar, yet the conventional wisdom was for a left handed person to learn the guitar right handed. Finally, it felt natural. I bought a chord book and started inverti
ng the fingerings for chords to work for a left handed person. By the time I had progressed in my abilities and started meeting and playing with other musicians, I began to find out that I should have reversed the strings to make the chord fingerings more like that of a right handed person. Having spent hours and hours inverting the fingerings and countless hours of practicing, I decided to continue the way I had taught myself'. As a teen, Jim soon realized he had a knack for songwriting. When he turned 18, he began writing jingles for a Dallas/Ft Worth Advertising Agency. Over the years, Jim has won several regional and national awards for his jingle writing, including a national awards for jingles he wrote for Subaru and Oldsmobile, as well as regional awards for jingles he wrote for Grandy's and a DFW grocery chain, Minyards. It was apparent that Jim had the gift of catchy hooks, and crafty lyrics. Today, listening to Jim's songs, it's obvious that he has diligently crafted his songwriting, his lyrics, and his melodies, to intertwine with today's popular music! This is one Texas Singer/Songwriter that not only has a unique guitar playing style, but has written some extremely catchy and memorable songs! Take a moment, and listen! We think you'll agree!
