Prime Minister Narendra Modi achieved a major record by completing 8,931 days in office as head of an elected government. This combines his time as Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014 and his ongoing tenure as Prime Minister since May 26, 2014. He surpassed the previous mark set by Pawan Kumar Chamling, who served 8,930 days as Chief Minister of Sikkim from December 1994 to May 2019.
