Learning Check will be offering a Young Writers Workshop. This workshop will focus on foundational writing skills using differnet tools to enhance writing, how to write various types of essays, as well as creative writing. The workshop date has not yet been set, but will be offered most likely, on a Saturday morning for 2-3 hours. The official date will be announced if and when enough interest is shown.

The cost for the workshop will cost $75.00 per student and a $35.00 non-refundable deposit will be due at the time of securing your spot.

I am so very pleased to announce that I have committed to using Learning Check to help raise money for our wonderful church.

For every family affiliated with The Pentecostals of DeLand that decides to utilize services through Learning Check for their children, whether it be homeschool evaluations or private tutoring, all proceeds will go towards our church’s Capital Campaign.

Just a reminder…

Learning Check is looking to offer the following services:

*** Group Setting tutoring (2-4 students) in the DeLand. These sessions will be 4 weeks long (2 hours a week). These sessions will focus on reading skills, reading strategies, and the writing process.

Cost is $40/hr, for a total of $80/week.

***Private virtual tutoring for 1 student (2 hours per week minimum). Each session will focus on the individual needs of each student.

Hi there! I just wanted to formally introduce myself and give you all a little information about who I am.

My name is Jaimie Scarola. I am a wife to the most amazing husband of 17 years, and together, we have 3 wonderful boys.

I am a public school teacher for Volusia County Schools and I teach middle school grades 6th, 7th, & 8th.

I am going into my 9th year teaching, where I have taught intensive reading to struggling readers in middle school, since the beginning of my teaching career.

I have loved every single second of it!

My qualifications:

I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education that I received from the University of Central Florida.

I also have a Master’s of Science in Curriculim, Instruction, & Technology that I received from Nova Southeastern University.

I am certified/endorsed in the following areas-l:

Elementary Education K-6 (any subject)
Reading Endorsement K-10
Civics Seal of Endorsement
ESOL Endorsement

*I’m just waiting on my ESOL and Civics to show up on my certificate via FLDOE.
