June was filled with learning, growth, and connection at Carrie Steele-Pitts Home GA-RYSE Program! đź’™

Throughout the month, our youth participated in nine life skills workshops offered in virtual, hybrid, and in-person formats, resulting in more than 550 participant sign-ins from across Georgia.

Together, we explored topics including internet safety, nutrition, healthy boundaries, goal setting, budgeting and meal preparation, hair care, car maintenance, and creative expression.

Some of this month’s highlights included:

🍽️ Budget Reset: $20 Grocery Haul & Meal Prep Challenge
đź’‡ Hair Reset Workshop with licensed stylist Adrianna from Suede Curl Bar
đź’Ľ Cookout & Job Fair
🎤 Speak Your Peace: Open Mic & Creative Expression Night

But don’t just take our word for it—here’s what some of our youth had to say:

💙 “That I got to talk and express myself.”
— Protect Your Energy Participant

💙 “The challenge and food ideas.”
— $20 Grocery Haul & Meal Prep Participant

💙 “Very informational, loved the Kahoot as a wrap up!”
— Protect Your Future Participant

💙 “I found out there are more ways of taking care of your hair and what ruins your hair.”
— Hair Reset Participant

Every workshop is designed to help youth build confidence, gain practical life skills, and create meaningful connections. Thank you to everyone who helps make these opportunities possible. Together, we’re helping Georgia’s youth build brighter futures. 💙

Thank you to Suede Curl Bar for partnering with us during last night’s GA RYSE Life Skills Workshop on hair care and maintenance.

Two of the youth we serve volunteered to be hair models, and for one of them, it was their very first time in a salon.

If you could have seen the smiles on their faces as they bounced around the room, you would have understood just how special the experience was.

Thank you for helping our youth learn new skills, build confidence, and feel celebrated. We appreciate your partnership and support.
