My goal is to write stories that stay with readers for days after finishing the book. A real home burglary inspired Jeff Ross to write his book, "The Burglar." Several years ago, my family and I were at a neighbor's house and I was completely unaware of a break-in of my home. A burglar shattered the window in my kitchen, causing hundreds of fine glass shards to be perfectly scattered across the fl
oor. When we returned home, we saw our cat, Polly, walking gingerly through and around the dangerous shards of glass. And suddenly, Polly stopped mid-step between the shards and glared at me, as if she were thinking, "I know who did this, you dummy! Are you going to do something about it?"
At that moment, it clicked! There's my book. If my very smart house cat could talk, she could identify the perpetrator and bring this clown to justice. For the book I named the cat Penny (so real-life Polly wouldn't get royalties) and I added a dog named Max. The book has all of the funny day-to-day activities of the pets and their sarcastic discussions about the dumb humans. It chronicles the burglar's (Jonathan's) grand escape, his kidnapping of a policewoman (Officer Heilman), and quite a suspenseful police chase. I had so much fun with these pet characters, I decided to write a spin-off children's book series titled "The Adventures of Max and Penny." So far I have published two books in the Series, "Dog Training Day," "Zoo Day," and the newest book, "Camping Day." I am half way done with the third book and it will be called "Camping Day." All books are available on Amazon. Ross has also written "The Windfall," which is an exciting Kindle Vella story that is currently in Season 2. Go to Amazon and search for The Windfall Jeff Ross.
