After a successful football career throughout high school as an all American, Stephen attended and played football at the University of Oklahoma on the offensive line, playing all four years. Followed by a short stint as a WWE wrestler, Stephen ultimately found his next hobby as a strongman, and has been competing regularly for the past four years.
