Most people think success requires more hustle. What it actually requires is more alignment.
I built and supported sales organizations of tens of thousands of people across the US and Canada. I saw what happened when people worked harder without working smarter β burnout, resentment, and a gnawing sense that something was fundamentally off.
What I discovered β and what I now teach β is that sustainable success is not built on effort alone. It is built on alignment. When your values, your vision, your inner beliefs, and your daily actions are pointing in the same direction, everything becomes more efficient. Not easier, necessarily. But more coherent. More energized. More you.
My book Enlightened Entrepreneurship walks you through the FIRE Formula β Focus, Ignition, Relationships, and Ex*****on β as a framework for building that alignment from the inside out. It is the guide I wish I had had in my first decade of solopreneurship.
The question is not: how do I work harder? It is: how do I align more deeply so that my effort actually lands?

Relationships are the currency of the conscious entrepreneur. And like any currency, how you hold them determines how far they take you.
In the FIRE Formula, Relationships is the third element β and the one most people misunderstand. They hear βrelationshipsβ and think networking, lead generation, building a contact list. Those things matter. But they are the surface layer.
The deeper question is: what kind of relational presence do you bring into every conversation? Are you genuinely curious about the person in front of you β or are you listening for the angle? Are you showing up as someone who adds value first β or someone who is always calculating whatβs in it for them?
People feel the difference. Not always consciously, but they feel it. The entrepreneur who builds lasting, profitable relationships is almost always the one who has done the inner work β who has resolved the scarcity mindset enough to be genuinely generous, genuinely interested, genuinely present.
The most powerful networking tool you have is not your elevator pitch. It is your quality of attention.

What if happiness wasn't a destination β but a skill you could practice every single day?
I spent years believing that happiness was something that would arrive once the circumstances were right. Once I had the degree. The money. The relationship. The business. What I discovered β through psychology, metaphysics, and a lot of hard-won experience β is that happiness is not a reward for achievement. It is a practice that makes achievement possible.
When you are genuinely happy, you make better decisions. You attract better opportunities. You lead with more compassion. You persevere through the hard moments because you know who you are underneath them. Create a Happy Life is the book I wrote to give you the practical tools to build that foundation β through thought-shifting, neurological repatterning, and the simple daily habits that compound into a life you love.

Happiness is not the reward at the end of the hard work. It is the fuel that makes the hard work sustainable.
I spent years operating on the assumption that I would be happy once I arrived. Once the business was profitable. Once I had the degree. Once the relationship was right. Once my son was grown. Once the house was paid off. The problem with that model is that the goal posts keep moving and you spend your entire life postponing the experience of your own life.
What I've learned β and what neuroscience now confirms β is that the relationship between happiness and success actually runs in the opposite direction from what most people believe. Happiness doesn't follow success. It precedes it. When you are genuinely, deliberately, practiced at accessing a positive emotional state β you are more creative, more resilient, more generous, more attractive to the right clients and opportunities. Happiness is not soft. It is strategic.
What is one thing you could do today β just today β that would genuinely lighten your heart?
