In 4th grade, FooFoo started writing and developing a passion for rapping because life growing up was not all that sweet for her.
In 6th grade she got the name, FooFoo by an old friend named, Amethyst Citizen. She used to call me FooFoo because she was always crazy, clowning around, and doing goofy things. Jalyn Ross aka FooFoo is from Lake Charles, Louisiana and now resides in Dallas, Texas. She grew up with her mother, stepfather, and sister, but mostly raised by her grandmother. Life could be challenging at times because her mother and stepfather would argue to the point to where at times she wanted to leave. Although her mother made sacrifices, she did stuff for her and her sister to provide for them and keep them happy, however FooFoo took care of her sister. She was able to provide for her sister because at the age of 13, she worked at a funeral home with her grandmother. She had a rocky relationship with her father because he used to be over-protective. FooFoo has had many struggles that she expresses through her music. Her struggles didn’t stop her from succeeding in life. In 2013, she was a graduate of Washington Marion Magnet High School. FooFoo’s son had the greatest impact and influence in her life, and she does all that she does to provide for her child. In 2017, FooFoo wrote her first song, “Try Me” which she dropped on YouTube. In 2018, she wrote her first song, “Are You Ready” that was distributed on all major digital outlets and streaming platforms such as Apple Music, Amazon Music, and more. In 2019, she performed in Lafayette, Miami, Lake Charles, Atlanta, Baltimore, and more states. She went to California and met up with celebrities such as, Morgan Westbrooks and Anthony Lewis. FooFoo is working on several projects. She will be releasing 4 EPS titled, “World 1 Patron,” “World 2 Casamigos,” “World 3 Stella Rosa,” and “World 4 Crown Vanilla.” These 4 titles express on how she feels when she is on the 4 different liquors, but real situations that she went through. Also, FooFoo is working on music with the CEO, Cody DuMaine with Cold Hearted Records. She will be featured with one of his artists named, Class6.
