I’m convinced parents invented “brunch” because no new parent can get anywhere on time. 😰 This is my “breakfast” at 12pm. A breakfast I made in my own house and was still late to the table. 😅😂
I’ve been big on making sure I eat at least two good meals a day, with snacks interspersed, because feeding myself means I can feed the kiddo. It’s a daily struggle though and certainly one I don’t think I could have actually mentally prepared myself for either.
If you’re struggling with balancing your basic needs so those of your newborn, I believe it’s safe to say that we all are struggling. It’s completely ok to admit that you’re lacking sleep, haven’t showered, and have a ton of questions regarding this new family addition. Reach out to a friend or parents’ network if you need to chat about what’s going on. If you’re like me, taking a daily walk (until the OBGyn clears me to start running in a few weeks) is just the ticket to re-centering your mind and spirit. Getting out of the house for an hour, taking the kiddo out for some fresh air, is wonderful!
Cheers to many more (late) brunches and sneaking in extra snuggles with the little one. 👶🏻
