Great Thursday Tips from K&L client Cornerstone Chiropractic. Follow Dr. Anderson on FB or IG for more health tips each week.
Fall means football, more outdoor activities, cold & allergy season, and the final days before the winter weather hits. It’s tempting to slip out of exercise routines and pack on the pounds.
Dr. Anderson shares some tips to promote health & wellness throughout the season.
Prioritize Physical Activity
• Take advantage of sunny days outside to boost disease-fighting Vitamin D
• Find time in your day for some quick work-outs. Take a walk during lunch, family walks around the neighborhood or local park, get a gym partner for accountability
Help Avoid Sickness
• Wash your hands often
• Get plenty of sleep
• Drink lots of water
• Eat healthy foods with vitamins & minerals to support immune health
Maintain Healthy Eating Habits
• Nutritious seasonal fruits include apples, grapes, pears & cranberries
• Leafy greens such as chard, kale, mustard greens & spinach are great during the fall season
• Sweet potatoes & winter squash are packed with beta-carotene and can be roasted, pureed or mashed for a delicious side dish
• Avoid sodas, large amounts of alcohol, cookies & sweets, especially as the holidays are approaching
As you make these healthy habits a priority, you’ll feel better, have more energy, help avoid common colds & sickness, and enjoy each season to the fullest.
