Mother’s Day always feels a little layered for me.

I know so many people celebrating beautiful relationships today, and I also know many quietly navigating grief, distance, loss, estrangement, infertility, complicated family dynamics, or just the weight of what this day can bring.

The older I get, the more I think motherhood isn’t really about perfect pictures or curated moments. It’s in the daily showing up. The invisible labor. The worrying. The sacrifices. The joy. The exhaustion. The deep love.

I’m incredibly thankful to be a mother, thankful for the women in my life, and thankful I still get time with my grandmother. I don’t take that lightly. This photo of my daughter and grandmother walking together is so special.

And to anyone finding today hard in some way… you are absolutely not alone in that.
