Our hearts and prayers are with all those affected by last nights deadly storms . We live about 5 miles from one of the worst hit areas. We have made a donation to the Red Cross and encourage others who can afford it to do the same. Eight families lost loved ones last night, and hundreds of families are displaced because their homes were destroyed, or too badly damaged to return.

Today, it is pouring down rain on our first responders, and those trying to salvage thier belongings. The neighborhoods are currently blocked to anyone else wanting to help.

A little blast from the past. This was my first serious money skateboard at age 10 or 11. I'm pretty sure it was over $100. It was purchased at the Carrolton, Texas, "Free Flight" skatepark. My mother bought both my older brother and me boards that day. My brother Greg had a subscription to Skateboarder Magazine, and of course Tony Alva was his hero. So, he got one of the first off Alva boards with mid Trackers and green Krypronics. That board is long gone.

Last year, I wondered whether it was ever going to rain again. This year, we have had a years worth in May it seems. Great for the lakes and our drinking water supply...not so bueno for skating.
