Across our ministry, we’re proud to celebrate the graduation of this year’s Project SEARCH cohorts and the partnerships that continue to create opportunities, build confidence and open doors to meaningful careers for students in our communities. 🎓👏
Both in our facilities in Tyler and San Antonio, Project SEARCH interns have gained hands-on experience across multiple hospital departments while making a meaningful impact on our teams and the patients we serve every day. This year’s graduates demonstrated hard work, growth and determination, with several already stepping into full-time roles within our ministry.

We are proud to announce that CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances is the first facility in the nation to use the V2 Swoop Portable MRI inside an operating room! The groundbreaking procedure was performed by Chief of Neurosurgery Dr. Todd Patrick, marking a significant milestone in surgical precision and patient-centered care. By bringing advanced imaging directly into the operating room, the Swoop system allows surgeons to capture real-time images during procedures, improving decision-making, reducing the need for repeat imaging and enhancing overall surgical outcomes.

Kailani Vargas thought she would miss one of the biggest moments of her senior year at Gregory-Portland High School. Instead, it came to her. 💜
After learning she would be at CHRISTUS Spohn - Shoreline during prom, the disappointment was real. Kailani felt it would mean missing out on the memories, photos, and moments she had been looking forward to.
In a surprise she’ll never forget, her boyfriend, friends, family, and our Associates brought prom to her hospital room, complete with her dress, decorations, snacks and plenty of photos. With the support of her care team, who cheered her on every step of the way, her room transformed into something truly special.

Moments like these are a reminder that care goes beyond medicine, it’s about showing up, lifting spirits and creating joy when it’s needed most.
Now back home and recovering, Kailani is already looking ahead to her future, with dreams of becoming a NICU nurse and making a difference for others, just like her care team did for her.
