Texas is already facing rising healthcare costs, hospital closures, extreme heat, drought, higher insurance rates, and declining crop production from climate change.
When protections are weakened, these damages increase, putting at risk the health of our children, our economy and the enjoyment of our natural wonders.
Texans deserve leadership that protects our health and conserves our natural resources for the enjoyment of our future generations.

One year after Trump imposed tariffs, Texas small businesses are facing rising costs, tighter cash flow, and slower growth.
These pressures don’t stop at the business level—they lead to higher prices for consumers, reduced services, and slower local economic growth across Texas communities.
At a time when Texans need relief from rising costs, policies that increase financial strain are moving in the wrong direction.
Congratulations to our East Dallas neighbor Olive Talley on receiving the 2025 Award of Excellence in Media Achievement from the Texas Historical Commission. Her documentary The Stones Are Speaking brings national attention to the preservation of the Gault archaeological site, 50 miles north of Austin near Florence, Texas
Olive’s work highlights the extraordinary efforts of Mike Collins, who risked everything to protect the site from being destroyed. Thanks to Mike’s efforts,150,000 artifacts have been preserved including evidence of human life dating back over 20,000 years making the Gault one of the most significant prehistoric sites in North America.

Texas Republicans are inserting right-wing religious dogma into the public school curriculum. Indoctrinating children with religious and one-sided worldviews is how authoritarian political movements push their agenda.
An Open Education Resources Advisory Board composed of qualified experts should exist to provide a curriculum that teaches history truthfully and accurately, not a version of history designed to please political leaders.

Congress, not the President, has the authority to declare war.
Americans are dying, civilians are being killed, and families are paying the price.
Congress must reclaim its constitutional authority to declare war before more lives are lost.

Thanks to widespread public pushback, U.S. Customs and Border Protection has removed large sections from its border wall proposal.
However, the threat remains. Portions of Big Bend Ranch State Park are still on the table for construction. A wall here would devastate the natural landscape, sever vital wildlife corridors, and hurt the local tourism that sustains our communities.
We’ve made a difference—now let’s finish the job. Keep the pressure on Congress and tell them to completely remove Big Bend from their border wall proposal.
