KidWorks Festival 2025 Auditions

Hello! We are so excited to begin preparing for our KidWorks Festival this year at the end of July! We will have 4-5 student directors that Amy Cave and Joanna Chabot will be mentoring for our festival performances. Some of the shows that kids can audition for are:

Plays- Charlotte's Web directed by Hazel Chabot and Encyclopedia Brown by Lucas Long. Musicals- Tuck Everlasting by Emily Schaad, Beauty and the Beast by Eliza Chabot, Matilda by Savannah Noble.

There are many opportunities for actors of all ages and strengths. Any school age child over 5 years old, that is ready to try out their acting skills is welcome! Principal roles are the main characters that will be on stage the most and have the most lines or music to memorize. Supporting roles don’t appear on stage as often but may have a scene on their own and move the story forward. There are also ensemble parts where groups of actors will perform together, they have less lines, and do things as a group when acting, singing or dancing.

We start with auditions next Saturday, June 14th from 1pm- 5pm. Please sign up for an audition slot with our Sign Up Genius Link with details of what to have prepared for the audition.

After auditions on Saturday, June 14th, the directors will notify the actors and get scripts to them to start perusing early in July. Actors need to start learning their lines before the rehearsals begin since there is limited time.

Then cast will meet at the end of July for 9 days of rehearsal (2 hours each day). Rehearsals will begin Monday, July 21st- Friday July 25th and then Monday, July 28th- Thursday July 31st. Performances will be Friday August 1st and Saturday August 2nd. Cost to participate is $25 which will help with our rental space and props/set design. All auditions, rehearsals and performances will be at Amy's Studio of Performing Arts.

Come see our precious casts of Elephant and Piggie and Winnie the Pooh tonight at 6:30 at the Gussie Field Pavilion in Farmers Branch. KidWorks is a FREE theatre festival.
