With the endorsement of nearly 1,000 grassroots leaders, elected officials, and party leaders across our state, I am proud to have filed for re-election this afternoon to continue our work rebuilding the Texas Democratic Party.

In just one year, we’ve ushered in financial solvency for the state party, recruited a Democratic candidate for every state and federal office, launched an historic coordinated campaign, opened four additional offices across Texas, flipped a seat in the Texas Senate, and out-voted Republicans for the first time in more than two decades.

We’re building a party that is bottom-up, not top-down—recruiting and training county chairs and precinct chairs, and helping candidates in parts of the state that have always ignored and taken for granted.

I hope to have the opportunity to continue executing our plan through Election Day, where Texas Democrats have huge opportunity! With unity, focus, and a lot of hard work, I know that we can finally accomplish the progress we have been chasing for decades.

To help out our campaign, head on over to KendallScudder.com to endorse our campaign, or to make a donation to help support our effort.

I hope to count on your support at the Texas Democratic Party's State Convention in Corpus Christi, June 25-27!

We voted early— and today is your last day to vote early, too! Whether you have a favorite Democrat you want to support, or you’re just interested in the sticker like Lyndon, voting early is the easiest way to lock in your ballot.

Polls are open now— join more than a million Democrats across Texas and cast your ballot today!

We mourn the passing of Rev. Jesse Jackson — a tireless champion for voting rights, economic justice, and the dignity of every American.

He helped register millions of voters and never stopped fighting against voter suppression and poverty. That he passed on the first day of early voting in Texas is a powerful reminder of the work he dedicated his life to.
