Sharing a little color and texture from my front garden this time. 🩷🌿

The summer phlox is just starting to open with its vibrant pink 🩷 A small pot of pink impatiens gets in on the pink action too.

The blooms of the ‘Blue Angel’ hosta (in a pot) have a lovely fragrance.

‘King Humbert’ Canna is mostly grown for the striking foliage, but it’s starting to bloom as well. Reseeding orange cosmos are showy against the canna’s dark foliage.

‘Ruby Slippers’ Oakleaf Hydrangea blooms a little later than the ‘Alice’ in the backyard, extending the hydrangea season.

‘Southern Comfort’ Heuchera (also only grown in pots) adds color and texture through foliage alongside purple oxalis, ‘Tropical Giant” Spider Lily (Hymenocallis), and wood fern.

This bed is on the north side of my house so when the sun is high in the sky the blooming plants get what they need, but as the sun goes back into the southern sky the shade plants are protected.

I love the soft trickle of the fountain as well. It’s a great spot for birds to get a drink and a bath from time to time.

2026 Southlake Garden Tour

Photos from Signature Gardens's post 05/18/2026

Several pictures from the beautiful gardens featured on the Southlake Garden Tour today 😍

Hats off to the Perennial Garden Society for hosting this wonderful event!! And applause to all the garden owners who worked so hard to get their gardens tour ready 👏👏👏

Garden tours are a great place to get inspiration for your yard. If you attended the tour today, did you get any ideas you’d like to implement in your garden?

One of my favorite things about garden tours is getting to see so many of my plant nerd friends and meeting new ones. And getting to talk plants all day long 🌿😁👩‍🌾
