Let’s talk about this Mint Julep from More of a boozy milkshake and less a standard julep. Made with Bardstown Kentucky Straight Bourbon and mint chocolate chip ice cream. This is definitely my kind of Mint Julep.

Whiskey Advent Day 11. Today’s selection highlights a single barrel from and this fun bottle comes from their fill your own bottle experience at their new downtown Louisville tasting room. The single barrel was called Raise Your Spirits and comes in at 116.8 proof!

Whiskey Adventure Day 10. Another delicious cigar blend. This one from When in Louisville you must visit their tasting room and then pop on over to for dinner (and some more pours of Buzzard’s Roost). Things a six year old high rye bourbon that is 105 proof. After aging it spends some time in lightly charred, heavily toasted barrels. Grab a glass and pair it with your favorite cigar!

Whiskey Advent day 8. 1792 Sweet Wheat. This one comes from Barton’s Distillery in Bardstown, Ky. This is a soft, approachable bourbon coming in at 91.2 proof. Rye is replaced with wheat in the mashbill making it drink a little sweeter and softer. This is usually a limited release and is usually between 6-8 years old.
