THOSE THINGS WHICH HE SAYS!
Anyone who spends time studying the Psalms will marvel at how King David was bold in faith. The Psalms(book of songs) were actually King David’s cogitations, or deep thoughts, and prayers. He didn’t just sit down one day and decided to write a Psalm to help generations down the road. It was his lifestyle.
He learned early on to spend time with God and meditate upon His word. In the Book of Joshua, God spoke to Joshua about the mission ahead of him, and told him to MEDITATE on the book of the law day and night. Now the actual Hebrew word translated to meditate is
“הגה”
Transliterated word “hâgâh” which means the following per Strong’s Concordance(KJV):
to moan, growl, utter, muse, mutter, meditate, devise, plot, speak
to roar, growl, groan
to utter, speak
to meditate, devise, muse, imagine.
So meditation actually involves more than just pondering. It involves muttering(day something in a low or barely audible voice), and also roaring with a loud voice. I can imagine king David before he became a king tending after the flock and perhaps seated under a shade of a tree while muttering in his breathe Psalm 23. Or perhaps roaring from the top of his lungs in tears like in Psalm 32:3 saying ““When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.”
You see, it wasn’t just a spur of the moment thing. He was roaring all the day long. He was making bold statements “the Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear”(Psalm 27:1). No wonder when he met Goliath he declared “you come against me with a sword and spear, but I come in the name of the Lord...”.(1 Samuel 17). When David arrived at the camp, he heard Goliath daring the army. And he was indignant. Went he spoke up to some of the soldiers, his brother overheard him and said:
““And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab's anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.”
1 Samuel 17:28 KJV
His brother thought David was boastful. You can’t let what people think stop you from giving glory to God. The Apostle Paul said this of Abraham:
“He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;”
Romans 4:20 KJV
You give glory to God by confirming His word, way before it becomes manifested. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. The evidence is the word of God. You may have something you asked in prayer. You don’t just sit there and wait. Unbelief will settle in. According to Romans 4:20, the way you stay strong in faith is by giving glory to God. How? By making declarations of faith....speaking forth the evidence.
Having said that, as a Christian we have an advantage. We are already born into the faith of Jesus. In fact, everything that we need for life is already ours in Christ. Jesus said “you have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you.....so that whatsoever you ask the father in my name, he may do it”(John 15:16). Did you catch that? You are ordained for answered prayers. Jesus also said in Mark 11:23 ‘ whosoever sanity to this mountain, be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that THOSE THINGS WHICH HE SAYETH shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he sayeth’.
The key is ‘THOSE THINGS WHICH HE SAYETH.....”

“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,”
Ephesians 2:6 NIV
Whenever you are lost, whether in a building or on the road, it is important to know your current location or position. Because once you know that, you can navigate your way around. Likewise, it is pertinent for your Christian walk to know your identity, or position in Christ.
Look unto the mirror(Christ, the word of God). Don’t attempt to spark your own little light no matter how bright it seems(Isaiah 50:11). Look unto the rock from where you were cut(Isaiah 51:1). When you do, you will find that you are seated in the godhead in Christ Jesus. And as he is, so are you in this world.
