For those unable to attend the 2026 Accounting Legends Event and Business to Business Mixer, and I wanted to share a quick recap of what took place.

We gathered to honor the excellence, leadership, and legacy of the Accounting profession — and to celebrate the students and professionals who represent its future.

We kicked things off with a Business‑to‑Business Mixer that brought together Business Owners and Accounting/Finance professionals — creating a powerful network where both sides could connect, collaborate, and support each other’s success.

After a community dinner sponsored by Felisha Davis and Crowns BBQ, we opened with introductions from Professionals, Students, and Legends whose experience and advice created a powerful learning moment for everyone in the room.

This year, we recognized two outstanding contributors: Maurice Smith, for his years of consistent support of the Scholarship Fund, and Angela Dunlap, CPA, our 2026 Accounting Legend of the Year, celebrated for her leadership, mentorship, and impact on the profession.

One of the most meaningful moments of the evening was hearing from our scholarship recipients — Jaquon Johnson, Alysia London, Jeremiah Williams, Abigail Sanchez Ramirez, Autumn Westbrooks, and Manuel Brumfield — as they shared how these awards are shaping their education and career paths.

We also surprised Alysia London with an additional $1,000 scholarship in recognition of her academic excellence and leadership.

Throughout the night, we emphasized our mission: To build a strong pipeline of future accountants and financial leaders, and to reach our goal of awarding $100,000 in scholarships this year.
