That word was “metanoia” Greek for a total change of mind and heart. When Jerome translated it into Latin as poenitentiam agite "do penance" a system was born. A system so heavy it nearly broke a German monk named Martin Luther.

The contents of the SAVE Act are of secondary importance. It’s the messaging that counts. America must be saved. Whether the legislation will finally pass is yet to be determined, but the messaging is already set in stone. When politicians on both sides of the aisle use the word save and their messaging influences millions of people, the word they use is worth examining.
What Can Save America? Politics, Power, and What the Bible Actually Says Politicians have promised to save America for generations. The church has often followed. Historic Biblical Orthodoxy has a different answer entirely.
