This morning, Tiny Desk Concert hosts Robin Hilton and Bobby Carter announced the Dallas-based hip-hop collective Cure for Paranoia, who performed the song “No Brainer” as their submission, had emerged as the winner of the competition, which is now in its 12th year. NPR says that it received more than 6,000 submissions from independent music acts across the country. The judging panel included Carter, Hilton, Tiny Desk producer and Alt.Latino host Anamaria Sayre, WNXP Nashville morning host Celia Gregory, Tiny Desk alum Madison McFerrin, Alex Marrero of KUTX in Austin, and Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield.
