Recent “Live” Tree Decorating Project

Here’s how it went from start to finish 👇🏼

Story:
I was asked Wednesday to come decorate a tree that needed to be done BEFORE Friday night…

With two boys and a day job, I made it work and came Thursday night while my hubby picked the kiddos up for me.

I knew this was a “Live” tree, but I didn’t really know what all differences were between that and a fake. I also came in blindly using whatever decorations they had available to use what I could and assess if more was needed.

It took me an hour to wrap the lights because usually I work with pre-lit trees. Won’t make the same mistakes again.

And an hour to decorate. I didn’t have enough stuff that went together so we planned for me to come back Friday to add on the suggested pieces the clients went out to purchase that I recommended they buy to help save Design Fee Time.

I rearranged the previous layout (first photo of tree) since I realized the weight of the sprigs I clustered together was too heavy for the branches and focused on spreading everything out more evenly instead.

It was a grand total of three and ,almost, a half hours to decorate and I would say this:

“Do NOT underestimate tree decorating projects when it comes to time. They take a lot of work and range between 2 to 5 hours, especially if you want it done professionally.” (That does not include buying items or deciding on a theme)

So if that sounds like too much, BUT YOU REALLY REALLY want a beautifully decorated tree to show off for the holidays and enjoy. There’s still time and I know how to make it happen, captain 😊.
