After the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported in its August Consumer Price Index that prices rose higher than expectations by 8.3 percent from the previous year, I released the following statement:

"Prices are sky high for food, shelter, and even health insurance, yet over the last month, the Biden Administration raised taxes on American manufacturers, forced low-income workers to pay off the student debt of the well off, and even provided generous subsidies to the wealthy for things ranging from electric vehicles to Obamacare.

"Even former Biden economic advisers warn that to get inflation down further, unemployment will need to rise over the next year. Is that really worth celebrating?"

What an incredible honor to have my portrait unveiled in the historic Ways and Means Committee Room alongside so many leaders, mentors, friends and family today.

I'm tremendously grateful for the chance to serve in Congress and for everyone who joined me on this special day.
