I tagged along on my husband’s work trip to New Orleans and what started as a conference became five days of quality time together. NOLA had been on my bucket list for a while, so when the opportunity presented itself, I didn’t think twice. Between raising kids, careers, and everyday responsibilities, it’s easy to put your marriage on autopilot. This trip reminded me that investing in your relationship doesn’t always require a grand vacation—sometimes it’s simply saying yes to time together when the opportunity presents itself.
