In the US, one notorious rodent is feared for it's ability to both build and destroy. As American Beaver populations recover from overhunting and near extinction, humans are looking for ways to prevent flooding where the beavers decide to call home.
Those who welcome the presence of these "ecosystem engineers" are rewarded with the many ecological benefits that come with a beaver's constant knack to grind down it's teeth.
This idea is embraced by of Seattle, Washington, an organization that aims to help residents of Seattle live with beavers. Find out more about the wonderfully steps this organization is taking to help people live with these amazing creatures!
