Columbus Food Rescue
We match up donating agencies (restaurants, bakeries) with receiving agencies (shelters, pantries)—you transport the food. Check out our Columbus FAQs here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Uj3ZPzvInd5a5dbSK30T90rD4baSl6j5FHTH4P9KzQQ/edit?usp=sharing

Whew—thanks, Kim, for rescuing these 1,000 pounds of surplus produce from a community giveaway last week! 🥬🥒 We’re so grateful to our partners for helping keep this food in the community instead of the landfill!

In honor of International Compost Awareness Week, here’s a glamor shot of some Ro’s Kitchen food scraps on their way to the Waste and Reuse Convenience Center this morning. 💚 Even when our chefs and volunteers can’t transform *all* of an ingredient into a meal, we still do what we can keep that food out of the landfill!

Thanks to the crew from Toast and Little Italy Ristorante for helping ensure the uneaten food from last night’s event at Pins Columbus didn’t go in the trash, but instead went to folks who needed it! Pizzas and salads and appetizers all got delivered to a supportive housing complex about a mile away. 🍕🥗 We so appreciate their thinking ahead to make sure the excess could be rescued!
