🚨 Friendly PSA from someone who sells horses for a living 🚨
Selling horses is what I do.
It’s not because I’m bored.
It’s not because every horse has a secret problem.
It’s not because I “fell out of love with them yesterday.”
It’s my job.
Every time I post a horse, the first question is:
“Why are you selling him/her?”
Because… I sell horses.
That’s the whole business model.
Restaurants sell food.
Dealerships sell trucks.
I sell horses.
If I kept every good one, I wouldn’t have a business — I’d have a very expensive pasture ornament collection and a feed bill that would put me in therapy.
Most of the horses I sell are being sold for one of these reasons:
• They’re finished and ready for their next person
• They don’t fit my program anymore
• We’ve put the time into them and it’s time to move them along
• This is literally how income is made in the horse world
Not every sale has some deep, dramatic backstory.
Sometimes the reason is simply:
👉 They’re ready
👉 You’re looking
👉 I’m selling
I promise, if there’s something someone needs to know, I tell them. My reputation matters more than one sale ever will.
But if you see me consistently posting good, solid horses… it’s not a red flag.
It’s a business.
So next time you see a sale post, feel free to ask:
“How is he broke?”
“What’s he good at?”
“Would he fit my situation?”
But the reason he’s for sale?
Because that’s what I do. 🤠
I didn’t write this but loved the message so had to share

Heyyyy y’all!!
I wanted to update everyone on things here at Painted Lady Ranch!
First, I am soooooo incredibly overwhelmed with gratitude for my clients and those who have supported my journey throughout the years with this endeavor. It blows my mind that y’all follow little ole me!
Those of you who have trusted me with your horses I have so much appreciation for you & trusting me and believing in my program means the world to me.
This year though, I will be taking a hiatus from training horses (unless you are a returning client/ we’ve already spoke about your horse coming in).
I absolutely LOVE working with horses and meeting all of you and becoming a small part in your horse’s life. I personally need some time off to enjoy my own horses, continue my own education, and honestly just learn to love it all again. The burn out is real, has been real, and it’s time the horses become my heartfelt passion again and not a paycheck.
It was not easy at all to come to this decision, but I believe it’s a necessity for me, my family and my own horses that don’t get much of my time.
I will still offer equine shoots with my horses or yours! We may still have a horse for sale here and there but for the most part will be focusing on the photography aspect.
This also means I’ll get to see more of you in the show pen this year that I’ve desperately been missing
Don’t worry I’ll be back in the game when the timing feels right, better & badder than ever!
If you have any questions please feel free to message me. If you’re in need of recommendations so many of my friends are extremely talented trainers and I’d be happy to send you their way!
Much love 🖤🖤
