Opera at USC is the University of South Carolina's School of Music's nationally recognized opera program. Directed by Ellen Douglas Schlaefer, the company produces two main stage productions (locations vary) with orchestra a year and an evening of one acts with piano in the SOM recital hall. Opera at USC also participates in community engagement including outreach programs in area schools and assisted living centers. For more information check out our website!

Opera at USC is celebrating the Class of 2026. 🎓🌟🎶 Special congratulations to Madison Supino on earning her MM in Opera Stage Directing, and warm wishes to Laura Hutchins, Christine Powell-Thomas, Jeremiah Frazier, Bailey Barefoot, Madeline Fyock, Bryce Stratton, and all of our graduating students in the Opera at USC family. Bravi tutti!
A huge BRAVI TUTTI to the company of COMPANY presented last night and tonight by University of South Carolina Musical Theatre. Great job by one and all, onstage and off. (we can't help but give a special shout out to some of the opera folks in the cast. And a very large thank you to Candice Pipkin and Greg Boatwright for guiding them.
