Re-Can-nect Project

This drive is more than collecting aluminum cans, any recyclable aluminum, with a Goal total weight of 1,500 pounds. Already have a few bags of cans collected and donated at 10 days in, so off to a good start. Keep saving those cans and let me know if you need me to come pick them up. I am planning to attend the Off The Street Breakfast 2026 in July for donors to check out their website for more details. Recycling + Reconnecting the community. Powered by people. Driven by purpose.

Got my first out of state delivery donation of cans in the mail. Thanks Mom. Also got another donation from my Little Brother These two donations along with some we picked up on our morning dog walk today, are the start of the summer aluminum Drive! June until Mid August when kids are getting ready to go back to school. The May Drive was such a success, again being able to donate over $250 to for one month of collecting donation, think what we can do in 10 weeks. Thanks again to everyone that has helped the project so far in 2026, tell your friends, together we can help more people. Recycling + Reconnecting the community. Turning yesterday’s waste into today’s help. Let me know if anyone wants a flyer to hang up at your work, maybe your favorite liquor store or brewery. Let me know.

Thanks to the generosity of our friends, supporters and community members, our May Aluminum Collection Drive was a tremendous success! Together, we collected over 400 pounds of recyclable aluminum. ♻️ This let me donate $265 to The Place. I had a nice conversation with Mary and learned more about the Nonprofit and how donations make a difference since they have lost funding recently. We are so thankful for everyone who contributed, shared our efforts, and helped make this drive possible. Big Thank You to friends Chip and Chris with their large recyclable aluminum from the automotive industry.
Together, we are making a difference one can at a time.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend! Big Thank you to my friend Chip. He donated 9 aluminum rims and an aluminum engine block from a Suzuki Samurai. Can’t wait to see how much all of this weighs, it will put me close to if not over the May 300lb. goal. This does not even count the Bags of cans that will be cashed in for May as well. More to follow… Recycling + Reconnecting the community. Together, we turn waste into worth.

Week 2 got a bunch of cans donated from my neighbor Matt! Thank you for that, awesome. My friend Chip called and said he had a bunch of scrap at least 200 pounds but maybe 300 or 400 total for week 3. He said he wants to crush the May goal with this donation. Good to have friends that want to help. Hit me up if you need me to come pick up any aluminum that you have been saving.

This project is mainly to turn recyclable aluminum into cash and donate those funds to a local charity in my community. Sometime you have to pick up other trash to help make a difference. This morning we found this plastic 6-pack holder. I cut it up into pieces, at home to prevent it from getting tangled by a fish or turtle in case it somehow makes it to the ocean. Helping the environment and the community!

May the 4th Be With You. Time to get the May Aluminum Drive started. Goal is to collect 300 pounds of recyclable aluminum this month and turn that on and make a donation to a local charity. My friend Chris started the month of right with 79 pounds of scrap aluminum. Big thank you for that. Let’s vote on 3 charity’s I’ve narrowed it down too for the first drive. Since it is is Military Appreciation Month, Another thought was another local nonprofit that helps individuals ages 15 to 24 that are experiencing homelessness. The other is All collected or donated recyclable Aluminum will be cashed in and donated to one of these, please help me pick one for the first drive. Your vote counts here. Re-Can-nect Project.
