📣 College Point Residents: Make Your Voice Heard! 📣
Is there a problem in your neighborhood? Potholes, sanitation issues, loud noise, or other quality-of-life concerns? Don't just complain—file a 311 complaint!
Filing a complaint is the best way to officially report problems and ensure they're addressed by the city. It also helps the city track issues and allocate resources where they're needed most. Your complaint can lead to real change in our community.
How to Properly File a 311 Complaint
You can file a complaint in a few ways:
Call 311: Dial 311 within NYC. They have operators who can help you in over 175 languages.
Online: Visit the official NYC 311 website.
Mobile App: Download the NYC 311 app on your smartphone.
Text: Text a message to 311-692.
Tips for a Successful Complaint 📝
When you file, be ready with the following information to make your complaint as effective as possible:
Be Specific: Describe the problem clearly. Instead of "a noisy neighbor," say "Loud music and parties from the apartment at 123 Main Street on Friday and Saturday nights."
Provide an Exact Location: Use a specific address, intersection, or even a landmark to pinpoint the issue. For example, "Pothole on the northeast corner of 14th Avenue and 122nd Street."
Include Details: Mention the date, time, and how long the problem has been happening. This helps the city agency prioritize and investigate.
Get a Service Request Number: After you submit your complaint, you will get a reference number. Write this down! This number allows you to follow up and check the status of your complaint online.
Follow Up: If the problem isn't resolved, you can use your Service Request number to contact 311 again or your local City Council representative to escalate the issue.

ALERT -- I'm aware of the shooting at 22nd and the Whitestone Expressway this morning.
According to the information I've received the officer will be FINE. He was shot in the leg and is in good shape all things considered, he was taken to Jamaica hospital and is being treated.
The officer was from a special detachment from outside our area. Backup from the 109th satellite precinct was on the scene IMMEDIATELY.
The suspect is is in custody now.
Please try to avoid the area as it continues to be an active crime scene.
I will of course update everyone on the situation as I receive more information.
We are praying for the swift recovery of the officer.
