NEO Pest Control
Hello readers! The mice and other small furry beasts have been invading homes at a rapid pace. If you have rodent issues, here are a few ways you can attempt to keep them out of your home.
1.) From the interior, with your lights out, go to the basement and garage. In the basement, walk around the perimeter and see if there are any spots you can see through to the outdoors. In the garage, see if there is any gap between the bottom of the garage door and the concrete. If you can see through to the outdoor light, a mouse can easily enter at that point. A field mouse needs only 1/4" hole.
2.) Walk around the exterior of your home looking for a.) No mortar in the joints between the blocks in your foundation. b) Where anything, such as the gas pipe, conduit, dryer vents go through the wall to the interior, look for gaps big enough to allow a mouse to enter.
3.) you can seal the interior holes with either non-expanding foam or window spackle, depending upon the size of the opening.
4.) From the exterior, foam will probably be an aesthetics issue, so I would recommend caulk or spackle
5.) The seal on the bottom of your garage door will be near impossible to remove and replace. go to Home Depot and purchase a length or two of flexible pipe insulation and add it to the existing seal. I would glue it.
If none of these tips work, or you just don't feel like doing it yourself, call a professional like myself to both rid you of the mice and keep any from getting back inside your home
