Lonely Child is the alias of Austin, Texas-based producer, songwriter, mixer, and musician Bryan Ray. Having worked closely with a range of successful artists like Mobley and Laura Bell Bundy, Ray’s original songwriting, productions, and mixes have garnered millions of streams and multiple placements across TV and film. Raised in the musically rich city of Cleveland, Ohio, he began his artistic pu
rsuits at a young age, picking up the piano at 5, and moving to saxophone and guitar by 15. He made his foray into a professional music career performing alongside the legendary Dave Brubeck, before moving to South Korea to teach English and record music. Relocating to Austin, Texas in 2009, he quickly joined a songwriting studio whose song “Two Step” was cut as the lead single for Laura Bell Bundy’s Big Machine Records debut. It was then that he met Mobley and co-produced and mixed Mobley’s Fresh Lies, Vol. 1, garnering him back-to-back Producer of the Year nominations at the Austin Music Awards (2017-2018). With Mobley breaking, he found his calling in developing new artists. Through a mutual friend, he teamed up with Jefferson Clay, a contestant on FOX’s The Four. The collaboration was fruitful, as the Lonely-Child produced single “Used To” made its way to Spotify’s coveted “Fresh Finds” playlist. Around the same time, he teamed up with Daddy Nat for the album Leisure Lane LP. The single “1Night” has garnered over half a million streams, to go along with Daddy Nat’s quickly growing Tik Tok army of 30,000+. Lonely Child is currently producing Middlespoon’'s sophomore LP, while continuing his work with Jefferson Clay, Daddy Nat, and so much more burgeoning talent. In addition to his award-winning production work, Lonely Child is also half of musical duo Hollow Coats, as well as a remixer and occasional solo artist.
