Tuning In Now

For the longest time I took the advice of my elders to sit down and shut up. This carried over into adulthood for me.

Only in anger did I speak up and share my thoughts. And I’m still working on this today. The only exception is I’m learning to use my voice to be more useful and to seek understanding for every situation.

I fall down sometimes and say things that may hurt the one’s closest to me but I’m quicker at seeing my errors and learning past that moment.

As I shed more beliefs about myself, I’m understanding more now the magnitude of my voice, the power and responsibility I have to always be seeking and speaking the truth because the hurt it causes when I’m not is unbearable for me.
