Hello all! It's been a long time as I've been busy building out my Mindpalette venture!

Now I need a favor - I need at least 25 people to go Like my new Mindpalette business page. There are certain settings (like a custom URL) that you cannot set until there are at least that many users. Note there is not much there yet as I'm just building it out now.

For the rest of you, I'll send you a more "formal" invite once we are fully live in June!

Hope your all well and wish you happy Memorial Day!

A bit of exploration with last month. A lot of my recent thinking has been inspired by the work of - someone who constantly stretches his creativity. I notice that it seems as if every creative shoot he shares becomes an extension of what was before - lots of fun to watch!

Some random musings…

Sometimes I create with the larger goal in mind, playing with one aspect which I need to learn . Other times, I prefer to improvise, just to create, because I need to. And of course, some are very specific for my clients. For most of them, the image is a document of the session - the most interesting part is our connection during the shoot.

I often wonder, amongst the slew of internet posts, what do artists really need today to be satisfied? Is it a new way to show your art, a constant stream of new ideas, access to like minded people? I don’t just mean photographers - I mean any creatives. What is missing?

If you have thoughts you want to share, let me hear them below or send me a DM.

Happy New Year!

As you may have noticed, I’ve been fairly absent from socials since late October. Part of it was just needing a break but also because I wanted to focus on clarifying and building Mindpalette.

I came off my sabbatical :) Over the next several months, I’ll be more engaged, slow showing the process and sharing where this is going.

I finished the year working with some pretty awesome people and you will start seeing some of that work in January. This particular session with was not only a ton of fun but helped me keep pushing. These images are mostly straight out of camera - exploring serenity inside of chaos (visually and metaphorically). I’ve wanted to work with Addie for a while - a perfect fit!

Many thanks to all who have decided to work with me this year - you inspired me to push further and I appreciate your support in the journey!

Breaking news! I'm excited to announce that Michael Matzko Photography is being retired - for two different businesses. Launched in October, Bo***ir Artistry is a boutique bo***ir service that not only caters to newlyweds and couples, but also focuses on people in transition. All inclusive, I work with people recovering from breast cancer (before, after and a year later), emotional trauma recovery, people celebrating fitness goals, and virtually anyone who is going through transitions and wants to commemorate their experience!

These sessions start with you - a journey in self discovery and exploration.

If anyone is interested in finding out more, please have them visit https://bo***irartistry.studio ! Currently, all services booked before Dec. 20th (schedule in 2025) are offered at a 20% discount! Gift cards and payment plans are available.

The other business will be launching in Winter of 2025, which is a large venture combing technology, art and social communities. More to follow!

Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women in their lifetime. Beyond the physical, it has an enormous impact on their psychological being.

It was an honor to work with on a series helping her to express her grief and sense of loss and change. It is a powerful topic and humbling to try to capture her emotions with respect and creativity.

I always strive to learn as much as I can about the topics I am shooting and especially how it impacts my subject - a snippet of their feelings and real life impacts. In this case, it was about the process from discovery, surgery and all the challenges of post op layered on top with a massive amount of emotions. Whether it is a bo***ir shoot with he/she/they or working through personal trauma or doubts, the photo becomes a marker of the journey and a bit of their own recovery.

If you are going through something similar, reach out to - she wants to support others as best she can.
