Some people act Christlike until Christlikeness is required.
When someone comes in humility to apologize, and we ignore them, leave them on read, or withhold reconciliation, the Bible has a name for it: unforgiveness and a hard heart.
Jesus didn’t leave us on read.
He didn’t ignore our repentance.
He ran toward us.
Scripture is clear:
Forgive as you’ve been forgiven. (Eph. 4:32)
If you won’t forgive others, God won’t forgive you. (Matt. 6:14–15)
Love in deed, not just in words. (1 John 3:18)
Ignoring someone who seeks peace isn’t strength, boundaries, or spiritual maturity.
It’s avoidance dressed up as holiness.
The call of Christ is not to look Christlike but to be Christlike — especially when it’s uncomfortable.
If we want to reflect Jesus, we must respond the way He responded to us:
with mercy, conversation, forgiveness, and open doors.
