Muddy water and storms all week had me scrambling trying to figure out where to fish. Sunday was tough, but honestly it turned into one of those perfect chill days anyway — rock hunting, soaking up the sun, and getting everything ready for the Florida Keys trip. Even got a final shakedown run in with the electric kayaks.

Yesterday I hauled the ultralight back out and hit a low head dam stretch I haven’t fished in over a year. Little more controlled conditions with all the rain lately. Found a smallmouth pattern pretty quick, lost a really big one early… then about an hour later this 18” smallie ate.

Third confirmed Fish Ohio smallmouth of the year. 👌🏻
